Who & Why

Hayley Paterson (Senior Podiatrist/Director)

BHSc Pod (Hons) MAPodA

Hayley graduated with Honours from QUT Brisbane in 2004, then worked in Cairns before opening her clinic in Townsville in 2007. With an extensive background of representative touch football and hockey, Hayley understands the importance of keeping people (of all ages and activity levels) on their feet and active. Forever undertaking more courses Hayley is committed to fuelling her passion for Podiatry, in particular barefoot rehab training and Western Medical Acupuncture. Hayley’s sole focus is providing individualised, holistic biomechanical care.

Outside of work, Hayley enjoys yoga, circuit training, hiking, reading and exploring countries with completely different cultures.

Christine Hobbs (Podiatrist)

Born and raised in Ingham, Christine was excited to return to sunny North Queensland to be closer to her family and join the Foundation Podiatry team in January 2015. Christine has a special interest in lower limb biomechanics, children's foot health and development and ingrown toe nail surgery. Christine fully appreciates and is passionate about our mantra:     Active FEET  >  Active BODY  >  Active LIFE!

Away from Podiatry Christine enjoys spending time with family, spoiling her niece, boating, reading, early morning bootcamp and tackling Castle Hill and other walking tracks around Townsville.

Foundation Podiatry is not your average Podiatry clinic.

With a decade of operation in Townsville we have grown into a holistic, biomechanical-focused clinic. Our mission is to assist our patients in maintaining “healthy active feet” so that they can enjoy a healthy active lifestyle.

We respect that all our patients are different and that a ‘one size fits all’ treatment approach often fails. Our Podiatry team like to challenge the status quo and are passionate about continual learning. We are constantly expanding our treatment types and diagnostic equipment to ensure our patients achieve optimum results.

Aside from Podiatry, Hayley has other passions - local, global and environmental. With a decade of business in the Townsville community, Foundation Podiatry is now the vehicle for Hayley to give back and achieve her goals.

Foundation Podiatry proudly supports the following organisations:

Sandra Jones Centre

The SJC is a home for orphans, abandoned babies and children in crisis in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The SJC has its own clinic, preschool, school and training centre. Having seen the poverty whilst travelling through Bulawayo and met Australian-born founder of SJC; Hayley feels a great desire to support this not-for-profit organisation and has done since 2010. North Queensland Conservation Council

NQCC is the voice for the environment in the North. “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed” – Mahatma Gandhi. As an environmentally conscious clinic and the environment being Hayley’s top concern we are proud to support the NQCC.

Yoga Tools for Schools Inc

Sundalah was created to support our local Townsville community in discovering ways to live with a positive mind, healthy body and a loving connection with our earth. Sundalah is the major sponsors of Yoga Tools For Schools Inc - a not-for-profit initiative founded by a group of yoga teachers, school teachers & parents passionate about empowering young people to make healthy positive choices. Inspiring a similar holistic ethos to our clinic, we are excited to come on board as platinum sponsors of YTFS. Many wonderful local people donate their time to support YTFS, something we at Foundation Podiatry and the broader Townsville community are very proud of.
